This is the Battle for Dune: War of Assassins offical FAQ topic.

Please read through this first post before asking question incase your question has already been answered.


"Do I need to have C&C Renegade to run this?"
No, this is a standalone game as of 2007. You do not need anything else to run this apart from a PC that can run Renegade.

"What Dune game are you basing this off?"
We are basing this total conversion off Emperor: Battle for Dune, the last released Dune game by Westwood and EA.

"Will this include the 3 Houses from the RTS game?"
Yes, the Atreides, Harkonnen and Ordos will all be in the game in the first release.

"Will you be able to play as all 3 Houses on the same map?"
No, we did plan this at first but then our asm coder left and so we will be having two Houses per map but different combo each time, for example: Harkonnen vs Atreides, Atreides vs Ordos and Harkonnen vs Ordos.

"Will the Sandworm from the games and movie be in this?"
Yes, The Sandworms of Arrakis will be in the game, causing chaos by eating anything it can.

"Are there going to be Makers?"
Yes, but not in the first release. We will be adding the subhouses in at release 1.5 or 2.

"Will this mod have its own servers?
At this point we can't say, but my clan will most likely have one and hopefully other clans will as well.

"Will you add a launcher like in APB?"
We have a launcher planned, yes.

"When will this be released"
When it's done, we are an indie project working on it when we can in our own time for free.

"Can I be a tester?"
No, testers are picked by the team and only by the team. If you ask to be one you are less likely to be picked as one.

"Are Ornithopters going to be introduced for the Atreides?"
Yes, but that will most likely be in release 2.

"How many releases are planned?"
At the moment we have 4 main releases planned and patches inbetween them.

Missing the point "How do i apply to be coder/modeler/texturer?"
That is if you need more people else the same as tester would apply?
